The Beginning

So I'm starting on the journey again, really I started on March 9th 2013, but have finally got the guts to make this journey of change public. I'm overweight - overly obese by every medical standard. I'm 33 years old and have health issues that I shouldn't have- High blood pressure, pain in my knees, ankles, and back, extreme heavy breathing and exhaustion after walking the flight of stairs to the second floor of my house, problems sleeping, and probably undiagnosed diabetes. After an in my face reality check from Mike, and me being mad on being called out on my unhealthy habits, well let's just say my bitterness and my wanting to show him wrong has motivated me enough to not be 'fat' anymore. Having my daughter Aiden and wanting to be able to keep up with her once she becomes mobile is also a HUGE motivator. I don't want to be exhausted after 5 minutes of playtime. I don't want her to see mommy stuffing her face with fast food and over eating just because it tastes good. I want to show her healthy eating habits and that exercise is a normal daily routine. I want my healthy habits to rub off on Mike and Ireland too, but ultimately that will be their decision.
I am taking my life back. I started the Couch to 5k program last week and it has been a struggle. My ankles, knees, and hips hurt. And really at 20 minutes I feel like I'm about to die and gasping for air but I push on to get to the 30 minutes. And you know what I feel great about myself after feeling like I'm killing myself! And if I kill myself exercising it's better than killing myself by living unhealthy.  I am taking it day by day. This past week was a struggle- didn't exercise for 4 days and sure as heck didn't eat good at all for those 4 days. I'm still getting control of the bad eating habits- I know it won't change overnight but trying everyday and journaling what I'm eating is keeping me accountable to myself.
Anywho, so the Couch to 5k program is a goal and I will work on it, push myself at my own pace, and if it takes me longer than 9 weeks to reach the 5k goal than so be it. I would love to eventually complete a 5k, I know it will happen one day, but more than completing a 5k I just want to be healthy.

I will be posting updates and progress as I have time and hopefully motivate some of my beloveds as well. I will take any and all motivation that you have, accountability is welcomed.
